Minoan Lines Changes Itineraries, Adopts Latest Fuel Regulation

Greek passenger shipping company Minoan Lines has announced that it will amend its itineraries on the PiraeusChania and Piraeus-Heraklion routes, starting on Wednesday, January 9, and until Thursday, April 18, 2019.

The company is changing its itineraries after completing the installation of scrubbers on its ships, which are pollution control devices used to remove particulates and/or gases from exhaust streams.

“Minoan Lines is the first Greek coastal shipping company to install scrubbers… in line with the new IMO (International Maritime Organization) Fuel Regulation – effective as of January 1, 2020,” the announcement said.

As of January 9, the company’s daily itineraries will be amended as follows:

The company’s cruise ferries Knossos Palace, Festos Palace and Mykonos Palace will return to their scheduled itineraries as of Friday, April 19.
