Austrian Airlines Employees on Duty for Christmas and New Year Holidays
Most people prefer to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve at home together with their families and friends and many Austrian Airlines employees will be working in the air and on the ground over the holidays to make sure that all passengers reach their destinations of choice.
“Our staff will make sure that the [holiday] wishes come true for as many people as possible,” the airline said in an announcement.
The staff on duty includes about 1,000 pilots and flight attendants, 250 station employees and 200 technicians per day. Other departments are also at work over the holidays, including teams at the Austrian Airlines flight operations control center or in customer service.
“I would like to thank all our employees who, as usual, demonstrate their full commitment during this time in order to bring our passengers home or to their holiday destinations,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of Austrian Airlines.
Austrian Airlines operates a route network of around 130 destinations; transports around 12 million passengers a year, and employs 7,000 staff from 58 nations.
