Skyscanner has also announced that it will be updating its one-stop flight deals page for Greek travelers, detailing the best flights on offer as soon as airlines announce their sales on November 23.

“Whether travelers are planning on flying home for Christmas or seeking their next bucket list adventure, Black Friday is the perfect time grab a bargain flight and hotel deal. While we can’t predict deals for this Black Friday, there are a few hacks travelers should bear in mind to find the best bargains, such as being flexible on their date for travel, as well as being open to flying in and out of different airports,” said Skyscanner’s Lisa Tyndall.

The UK-based travel fare website has based its predictions on 2017 Black Friday data.

Meanwhile, according to the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE), Black Friday – for the third year running – is a one-day promotional action marking the start of the holiday season. Participation by retail outlets is optional and products on sale must clearly state old and new reduced prices.

ESEE President Vassilis Korkidis said that Greece has managed to extend Black Friday into a week full of sales. Indicatively the Greek retail market has lost 40 percent of its turnover since 2008.
