All-new TripAdvisor Aims to Become Single Go-to Resource for Travel
Leading travel review website TripAdvisor announced on Monday that it had relaunched is service and was aiming to become the next exclusive go-to resource for travel.
TripAdvisor users can now find exciting content, including travel tips and recommendations from experts, friends, brands and influencers on the US-based firm’s new social platform, designed to inspire and at the same time change the way potential travelers research and plan their trips.
“Just as you have your go-to site or app for music and shopping, we are making sure TripAdvisor is now your go-to resource for travel,” said Stephen Kaufer, president and CEO, TripAdvisor.
The idea is for users to opt for a single source ahead of their planning. The brand new TripAdvisor offers access to helpful and inspirational videos, photos, articles and guides from parties users select to follow, as well as from thousands of brands, publishers, and influencers the likes of Condé Nast Traveler, National Geographic, Travel Channel, Time Out, Wine Enthusiast, Eater, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, among others.
Going Social
In the meantime, TripAdvisor is also keen on tapping into the social media dynamic, aiming to become the new Facebook for travel, with options that include – in addition to “Liking,” “Reposting” and “Sharing – following others they trust; getting advice and recommendations via their travel feed; privately planning trips and sharing ideas with friends and family; seeing what friends and family recommend – and all this in 28 languages.
“This is just the beginning for TripAdvisor as we continue to work with the community to build the best experience for travelers worldwide.
In the coming weeks, we will welcome more brands and influencers to the travel feed and will allow members to upload and share videos and articles,” added Kaufer.
TripAdvisor has almost a half a billion unique visitors every month, and 702 million reviews covering some 8 million accommodations, airlines, experiences, and restaurants. TripAdvisor-branded sites are available in 49 markets.
