2018 was one of the best years that we have experienced in a long time
The end of each charter season is a time for reflection: a time to examine what we did well and what we can improve upon.
Let me start by saying that 2018 was a very good year. Actually, it was one of the best that we have experienced in a long time and this is due to a number of factors.
The first is that the Greek fleet has grown substantially over the last years. A wide range of boats is available for charter and the majority are in excellent condition. There are new builds being launched and this is adding a further dimension to Greek yachting.
A combination of factors has resulted in a spectacular season for the Greek yachting industry and 2019 is looking to be even better…
The second is the human factor. The crew, who greatly impact the success of any charter, are exceptional by global standards. They are not simply matching clients’ expectations but exceeding them.
The third factor that is leading to a boom in the Greek yachting industry is the situation in Turkey. With all the uncertainty that has developed recently, the yachts are simply not risking it and are stopping in the Dodecanese.
The fourth factor is an unchanging one and it has to do with Greece’s lengthily coastline, thousands of islands and amazing weather.
It is the above combination of factors that has resulted in a spectacular season for the Greek yachting industry. And 2019 is looking to be even better as, at the time of writing, inquiries and bookings are already coming in.
