We remain committed to preserving Athens’ authentic characteristics
As we near the end of another successful year for Athens, I cannot help but note that the interest in our city continues to grow.
We have been working persistently to showcase our strengths as both a leisure and congress destination.
This year our city was named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination 2018 and the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau won Europe’s Leading City Tourist Board 2018 at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Europe Gala Ceremony 2018.
At the same time, Athens is attracting significant investment as a destination including developments by major hotel brands, a welcome boost to our city’s hospitality sector.
We are implementing a significant 200 million euros investment plan designed to improve the infrastructure and further the development of our city as a destination that embraces innovation and smart solutions for all…
We are also devoted to our goal to make Athens a city that is vibrant and attractive for visitors, professionals and residents alike.
We continue to work in this direction; we are implementing a significant 200 million euros investment plan designed to improve the infrastructure and further the development of our city as a destination that embraces innovation and smart solutions for all.
At the same time, we remain committed to preserving Athens’ unique sense of place and authentic characteristics, everything that makes our city stand out and allow our visitors to have a real and immersive local experience.
