2018 FVW Workshop Introduces Authentic Crete to German Tourism Professionals

For five days, 45 leading German tour operators, travel agents and journalists will become acquainted with authentic Crete, the host destination this year for the annual workshop of FVW, Germany’s leading trade magazine for tourism and business travel.

Taking place October 24-29, the delegates will discover the “treasures” offered by the island and work together with the island’s professionals to explore ways for their market penetration and sales growth.

The 2018 FVW Workshop will include a one-day congress and visits to Crete’s sights, traditional and cultural spots, hotels. The program aims to offer delegates experiential experiences.

The congress, under the theme “Sustainability. The path to longevity. – Discovering the authentic Crete and its treasures”, will take place on Friday, October 26, at the Creta Maris Beach Resort in Hersonissos.

The agenda of the congress will include a presentation of the demand trends for Crete and Greece and a comparison with other destinations by Crysostomos Antoniadis, Market researcher from Trevo Trend; a presentation on the flight market Germany-Greece by Dirk Steffensen, International Sales Manager Germany for Aegean Airlines and a tour operator panel focusing on the perspectives for Crete and Greece this year and beyond with the participation of representatives from TUI Germany, Alltours Flugreisen, FTI Touristik, Ferien Touristik and LMX Touristik.

A panel discussion with German travel agents and Vicky Stroumpou, Director GNTO Office Germany will also take place, focusing on the topic “How to sell Crete and Greece for 2019”.

TUI Care foundationMoreover, Anja Renner of Futouris will present updates from the TUI Care Foundation project “Crete: First steps towards a sustainable Food Destination | 2017-2019”.

The 2018 FVW workshop will be coordinated by FVW’s editor-in-chief, Klaus Hildebrandt.

The event is supported by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism.
