“Traveler Rights GR”, a new application aiming to protect the rights of travelers visiting Greece, recently received the Gold Award in the Mobile Service for Consumers category at the Mobile Excellence Awards 2018.
Organized for the fourth consecutive year by Boussias Communications in collaboration with the ELTRUN laboratory of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the awards recognize enterprises and organizations from all business sectors for their innovative mobile applications that enhance the experience of users.
“Traveler Rights GR” was launched in June by the Union of Working Consumers of Greece of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), the country’s largest trade union body. The app offers legal information and consultation on all types of transactions involved in travel such as sea and air travel, accommodation, food, foreign exchange, travel documents and many others.
Furthermore, it provides users with the option to submit a question or complaint to authorities or send an emergency message through the GPS Tracking technology.
The application also offers a directory with information including phone numbers, addresses, e-mails and websites of tourism-related bodies such as airports, ports, embassies, the tourism police and more.
“The Union of Working Consumers of Greece is moving forward in a dynamic way with modern means and thinking. Our strategic plan is to continue developing such innovations for other consumer sectors as well,” the Union’s president Ioanna Karandinaki said after receiving the award.
The application can be downloaded on ANDROID και iOS mobile devices and is available in English and Greek.
