Kountoura in Talks for Greece Promotion in Seoul Cinema
Promoting Greece through cinema, music and fashion, was on the agenda of talks between Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura and officials in Seoul, this week.
On the sidelines of her visit to the Republic of Korea for the 7th UNWTO Global Summit on Urban Tourism, Kountoura met with entertainment business stakeholders to discuss ways to showcase Greece through local film and TV productions. The minister met with executives from CJGroup and StudioDragon, among others, as well as from Samsung C&T Fashion Group. Minister Kountoura invited music producers and photographers to choose Greek destinations for their next projects.
While in Seoul, Kountoura also met with Patriots and Veterans Affairs Minister Pi Woo-jin during the UNWTO summit.
The two discussed the historical ties connecting the two countries fostered through the participation of Greek volunteers in the Korean War (1950-1953), ways to further strengthen bilateral relations with emphasis on tourism in view of demand by South Koreans wishing to visit Greece, as well as the launch of a direct air link to Athens.
The establishment of a direct air link between Athens and Seoul was also the main topic of a meeting held between the minister and her South Korean counterpart, Do Jong-hwan.
I am saying that for ages. I am glad that her team has finally decided to take my tweets in to consideration.
