Apollo Travel: New Flight from Oslo to Samos for Summer 2019

Stockholm-based Apollo Travel Group has announced the launch of a new charter flight from Oslo, Norway, to Samos, Greece, for summer 2019, which is expected to bring some 13,000 Scandinavians to the island next year.

The announcement was made by Apollo Commercial Director and Senior Vice President Nina Hornewall during a ceremony held at the Samaina Inn hotel in Karlovasi, Samos, to award the group’s best associate hotels on the island.

Also present were Niels Grossen, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Apollo Denmark and Apollo’s associate on Samos Dimitris Kasmirlis, owner of Rhenia Tours.

“According to the current plan, the new Apollo flight from Oslo to Samos, will be conducted every Saturday, from May 25 to October 5, with 181 seats available,” Kasmirlis told GTP Headlines.

The tour operator currently brings some 10,000 tourists from Sweden and Denmark to Samos annually, while it has increased the number of its travelers to Samos by 40 percent since 2015.

Apollo honors hotels on Samos

A total of 12 associate hotels were honored by Apollo on Samos. More specifically, in the four-star plus category the Sirena Residence won the gold award with 9.3 points.

In the four-star category, the Samaina Inn won the gold award with 8.8 points and the Arion Hotel the silver award with 8.2 points.

In the three-star plus category Archangelos Village received the gold with 9.8 points; Villa Eleonas the silver with 9.6 points, while the bronze went to Kouros and Glicorisa hotels which gathered 8.5 points each.

In the tree-star category Olympia Village was honored with the gold award with 9.4 points; Agrilionas hotel with the silver with 8.9 points and Anthemis Apartments with the bronze with 8.5 points.

Furthermore, in the two-star category the Aeolis Hotel received the gold award with 8.2 points and the Bella Vista hotel the silver with 8.1 points.

The Apollo Travel Group is one of the Nordic region’s leading travel agencies, with approximately 400 employees and a million travelers annually.

According to Nina Hornewall, Apollo brings some 475,000 tourists to Greece annually, with arrivals expected to exceed 500,000 in the next years. The group also includes the carrier Novair.
