Best Beaches in Greece Revealed by ‘Beach Inspector’

Eleven beaches in Greece are among the best in the world, according to the Beach Awards 2018 list, released by online travel platform Beach-Inspector.com.

The German platform tested 1,595 beaches in 52 holiday regions and honored the best in five categories: Wow Beach; Party; Watersport (kite surf, surf and windsurf); Special Ambiance and Classic Holiday.

The platform’s “beach testers” evaluated the infrastructure, local surroundings and overall impression of the the beaches, as well as numerous lifestyle factors.

All the beaches in Greece that were honored are located on islands in the country.

The beach of Elafonissi on Crete is included among the 21 “Wow Beaches” in the world, as it is considered ideal for relaxation, families and watersports.

Other beaches included on the “Wow”  list are located in Kenya, Spain, Italy, Thailand and Mauritius among other countries.

The beach of Kavos on Corfu is among the nine best beaches in the “Party” category. “An international party center has formed on Kavos Beach, which magically attracts young Britons in search of booming basses on the beach,” the platform’s experts said.

The Prasonisi beach on Rhodes is among the seven best spots for kite surfing in the “Watersports” category.

Moreover, the “Special Ambience” category includes the beaches of Kallithea Springs on Rhodes, Kalo Livadi on Mykonos and Chrissi on Crete, while the “Classic Holiday” category includes the beaches of Platis Gialos and Elia on Mykonos, Psalidi on Kos; Agioi Apostoloi and Falassarna on Crete.
