Seajets to Support Attica Fire Victims with Funds

Expressing its sadness over the loss of lives in the recent fire along the Northeastern coast of Attica, Greek – Cypriot ferry operator Seajets has decided to offer a portion of each Tera Jet fare to the victims.

Seajets said in a statement on Thursday, that it would be offering 10 percent of the total fare on each ticket booked for the Tera Jet ferry to and from the port of Rafina through to the end of its seasonal route.

The company said the decision comes as an “active effort to support those affected by the deadly fires in the settlement of Mati and in the surrounding areas”.

The total amount collected will go towards the reconstruction of destroyed  homes in the area, the company said, adding that ways to access the funds and means of distribution the will be announced in due time.

Crew members of the 1,800-capacity Tera Jet serving Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos, were among the first to contribute to the search  efforts, rescuing people who had jumped into the sea to save themselves from the approaching blaze on Monday evening.
