Marketing Greece Clinches World Travel Award for Innovative Campaigns

Marketing Greece has been honored as Greece’s Leading Innovative Destination Marketing Organization at the 25th World Travel Awards (WTA) 2018, for its innovative campaigns and contribution to the promotion of Greek tourism.

The WTA are considered the “Oscars” of the tourism industry and during the last 25 years recognize excellence in travel and hospitality. Their annual ceremonies gather some of the sector’s leading figures on an international level. The WTA Europe Gala ceremony took place recently at the Zappeion Megaron Hall in Athens.

“This is a great moment… an award which gives us the incentive to continue our work and confirms that our efforts are towards the right direction. The award goes first of all to SETE, the instigator of our existence; the company’s executives; our allies and supporters,” Marketing Greece CEO Ioanna Dretta said.

For this year’s season, the company’s main priorities include the promotion of Greece’s most attractive and promising tourism products to markets abroad, including sun & beach, culture, city break holidays and gastronomy. Marketing Greece’s actions also include a number of cooperations with leading media outlets with the focus on Greece.

“Greek tourism has a lot to offer in destinations and experiences. Our aim is to show to the global community that Greece is unique,” Dretta added.

Marketing Greece is a non-profit organization, launched in 2013 by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and the Hellenic Association of Communications Agencies (EDEE).
