Air Transat Named World’s Best Leisure Airline in 2018 by Skytrax
Air Transat, Canada’s leading holiday airline, was named the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2018 that took place recently in London.
The Skytrax Awards are considered the most prestigious accolades in the international aviation industry. Every year, some 20 million travelers from around the world pick the winners by taking part in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey – a global benchmark of airline excellence.
“Being singled out as the World’s Best Leisure Airline is an honor we’re extremely proud of, since it was awarded by our passengers,” says Jean-François Lemay, President and General Manager of Air Transat.
Air Transat has been voted among the best leisure airlines for seven years in a row, and topped the list for the second time in its history.
“This honor extends to all our employees, whose commitment, quality service and hard work ensure our passengers a pleasant, memorable experience, so their vacation truly begins the moment they set foot on board,” he added.
Air Transat currently flies to more than 60 destinations in 26 countries in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, it offers domestic and feeder flights within Canada.
The carrier offers a number of benefits on board such as the Club Class, with an exclusive cabin and priority service, as well as the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina.
Passengers in Economy Class can also treat themselves with Option Plus, which includes an additional piece of checked baggage and seat selection, among others.
Gold Star Aviation is Air Transat’s official General Sales Agent (GSA) in Greece.
The World Airline Awards began in 1999 when Skytrax launched its first global airline passenger satisfaction survey. The survey collects travelers’ opinions on some 320 airlines over a 10-month period, in 105 countries.
