Zakynthos Welcomes New 5-star Olea All Suite Hotel

Combining key aspects of Mediterranean architecture with tropical elements, the brand new five-star Olea All Suite Hotel, located on the island of Zakynthos in the Ionian sea, will open its doors on June 2 to welcome guests for the 2018 summer season.

Olea logoA member of the Design Hotels and part of the Xenos Hotels group, Olea is situated on the eastern side of the island, on a hill in the area of Tsilivi and includes 93 suites and three restaurants.

Promised to offer “tropical romance in a Mediterranean paradise” to guests, the new hotel taps into an ever-present water element.

The heart of the hotel is a man-made lake of 4,000 square meters, encasing the minimally-designed luxury suites that surround it.

“The idea was to introduce a resort that embraces everything that makes this island so wonderful, but in a contemporary way,” said  Venia Xenou, representing the Xenos Hotels group.

“From its warmhearted people and the unique ingredients of local cuisine, to the lush vegetation and the mesmerizing beaches, Zakynthos has just so many meaningful experiences to offer.”

Olea was designed by the Athens- and Stockholm-based architecture practice Block722architects+. The architects worked in the lush natural landscape and included the centuries-old olive trees in their design, also using natural techniques and materials such rustic oak wood, bamboo, and rattan. The result resembles a luxurious tropical island settlement.

Relaxation and wellness

Wellness is an important part of the services offered by the Olea All Suite Hotel. Guests can rejuvenate their mind and body at the Royal Spa & Relaxation area with special aromatic and essential oils therapies, as well as Mediterranean herbs; use the fully equipped gym; pamper themselves at the beauty salon and unwind in the yoga pavilion.

They can also swim in the lake-like pool and get a taste of various culinary delights of Greek and Mediterranean flavors prepared with a creative spin.

Furthermore, the hotel’s Sunset Bar, strategically positioned to offer a stunning view of the sunset, offers an exclusive list of signature cocktails, which include various ingredients and local herbs.
