Maris Hotels Clinches Award for Social Sensitivity
The Maris Hotels group has been honored for its social sensitivity practices during the annual HR Community Conference & Awards 2018, which was recently held in Athens.
Organized by skywalker.gr for the fourth consecutive year, the awards aim to recognize companies that develop and implement innovative strategies, which contribute to corporate sustainability and emphasize the social aspect of human resources management.
Maris Hotels’ Human Resources department received the honorary distinction “HeRa Social Sensitivity HRM 2018” for its sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which includes the “jobday45+ Career Day”, an activity aiming to support job candidates over the age of 45.
According to an announcement, one in four employees at Maris Hotels belongs to the 45+ age group.
“The real challenge for every company is to promote the cooperation between generations for the achievement of common goals… At Maris Hotels, we approach all age groups with sensitivity, attention and respect, in order to jointly achieve the best result,” said Human Resources Manager Sofia Tsioutra during the awards ceremony.
To honor its retired employees, as of this year the Maris Hotels provides them with a corporate gift: Three overnight stays in a double room, in the hotel they had worked for.
Maris Hotels belongs to the Metaxas Group of Companies, which has been active on Crete since 1975, the year when the Creta Maris Beach Resort opened its doors. The group, headed by Chairman and Managing Director Andreas Metaxas, also operates the Santo Maris Oia on Santorini, as well as the TUI Magic Life Candia Maris and the Creta Convention Center on Crete.
