‘Green Surfing Mare Villa’ on Paros Welcomes Guests After Renovation
Following extensive renovation works, the Green Surfing Mare Villa is ready to welcome its guests for the summer season on the island of Paros in the Cyclades.
Designed with the traditional Cycladic architecture, Green Surfing Mare is an eco-friendly villa, certified with the Green Key, an international voluntary eco-label for tourism facilities. The Green Key is based on international criteria, which foresee the environmental management of tourism enterprises and the education of employees, visitors, suppliers and local communities. Obtaining the Green Key demonstrates the enterprises’ efforts to develop an environment friendly, sustainable and responsible business.
Located 200 meters from the island’s Pounta beach, which is very popular among kite surfers and windsurfers, “the Green Surfing Mare Villa is now ready to offer its guests the summer vacation they’ve always dreamed of… in this unique beachfront summer house,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.
Built in 2007 in the area of Kambos, the villa’s owners are committed to promoting social and environmental responsibility. They have installed photovoltaic cells, solar thermal collectors and energy-efficient light bulbs for energy conservation, as well as a wastewater treatment system. Moreover, they encourage the recycling of materials such as plastic, aluminum, glass and paper.
