Peloponnese Region Promotes Tourism Offerings to Romanian Market
Prior to the launch of direct flights from Bucharest to Kalamata in June, the Peloponnese Region welcomed Romanian tour operators and travel writers to the town of Tripolis last week for a fam trip arranged in cooperation with the Greek National Tourist Organization (GNTO).
The charter flights, to be run by Tarom Airlines as of June through to September, were initiated by Peloponnese Region Alternate Governor Konstantina Nikolakou during a presentation of the region’s tourist offerings at the Grecia Panorama held in Bucharest last year. Tarom will also carry out direct charter flights from Bucharest to Mykonos.
Nikolakou underlined the importance of the Romanian market, which she said has been included in the region’s promotional plan due to a keen interest by Romanian travelers to visit Greece. In this direction, Peloponnese Regional Governor Petros Tatoulis is scheduled to meet Greek-born Romanian MEP Dragos Gabriel Zisopol.
Nikolakou went on to present the region’s wide range of historical and religious sites and natural wonders while inviting the visitors to sample Peloponnese products and dishes.
The fam trip concluded with feedback by the region’s Romanian guests who expressed their satisfaction with the Peloponnese experience adding that they will be recommending travels to the “real Greece” to their customers.
