Visitors in Athens can now experience a selection of the Greek capital’s museums, dining experiences and excursions for less, thanks to a new range of city attraction passes from iVenture Card.

Run by iVenture Card International, the iVenture Card is a leading fast growing attractions pass that runs in over 20 of the world’s most visited tourism destinations including London, Barcelona, Dubai, San Francisco and Cape Town.

The brand-new iVenture Card Athens currently offers 40 top attractions, including the Acropolis; day tours to Delphi, Epidavros and Mycenae and a cruise around the islands; and dining experiences to make the most of a visit to the capital.

Referred to as “the perfect companion for travelers” by the company, iVenture Card combines value and the flexibility to plan a unique itinerary. The iVenture Card Athens found its way to the Greek capital following the launch of a cooperation between iVenture Card International and two leading travel organizations in Athens — Athens Open Tour, which runs the double-decker “Get on Get off” bus service, and Key Tours, a travel agency with a history dating back to 1963 — in an aim to establish the Greek capital as a city break destination.

“We are here to welcome Athens to the iVenture Card family,” iVenture Card International CEO and President Ryan Rieveley said during a press conference held in the Greek capital on Wednesday.

With three different attraction passes – Athens Museum Pass, Athens Flexi Attraction Pass and Athens Unlimited Attraction Pass – that offer various duration and ticket options, visitors to Athens can create a unique tailored itinerary to suit their schedule and taste while saving up to 50 percent on regular gate prices.

“We’re doing this to bring Athens to the highlight of a worldwide audience… I’m really excited for the potential for Athens to become one of Europe’s and the world’s leading year round city tourism destinations,” iVenture Card’s CEO said.

Stressing that he does not believe that the Greek capital needs to rely on only being a stopover destination to the Greek islands, Rieveley underlined that Athens “should and will be a destination that stands on its own as a great place to visit as a short citybreak or as a base for a longer trip to explore the city and its surrounding region”.

On his part, Key Tours Managing Director Dimitris Bistolas, underlined the necessity of the product for all tourism destinations.

“We are committed to creating new excursions and experiences for the city’s visitors and it is within this sense of innovation that we are part of the iVenture Athens Card,” Bistolas said.

“The IVenture Card Athens is a new innovative product for Athens… It is so popular and prominent in major cities abroad that I consider it to be an extension of our commitment to all our partners and customers for tourist excursions and the creation of new and necessary tourist products and services,” Bistolas said, adding that Key Tours will promote the new product through all its business associates and networks.

The IVenture Card Athens offers the convenience of a handy free brochure or app guide and a single card or electronic iPass to swipe for entry to the selected Athens attractions.
