Aiming to deliver the best in-destination experience to travelers, Welcome Pickups, has partnered with Ctrip, a leading travel service provider in China.

“Announcing the partnership of Ctrip with Welcome Pickups signals the beginning of a great cooperation between two like-minded companies, with the goal of delivering the best in-destination experience possible,” Welcome said in an announcement. The company’s mission is to redefine the in-destination travel experience.

According to Welcome, as it accelerated its growth over 2017, it realized its need for strategic partners to better reach and accommodate those from Asia planning travel abroad.

“Ctrip emerged as the ideal partner, with complimentary brand values, customer focus and mission to use technology to better connect travelers to their destination,” Welcome said.

2018 has been announced as the EU – China Tourism Year by the European Commission and China in a joint effort to improve travel and tourism experiences, among other things.

With the outbound Chinese market growing at a rate of +7 percent per year, Welcome’s strategic partnership with Ctrip is expected to bring a better in-destination experience to users of Ctrip’s booking platform.

As noted by Welcome, in-destination spending accounts for 23 percent of the overall travel budget, after flights and accommodations.

“This category has traditionally been served by segmented providers, working independently in their markets. Welcome has created a holistic solution to unify the experience, benefiting both travelers and providers,” said Welcome CEO Alex Trimis.

“We are looking forward to combining our technology with that of Ctrip’s in order to offer travelers the best experience in any Welcome Destination they wish to discover,” Trimis said.

Founded in 2015, Welcome has grown 300 percent year over year and currently operates in 18 destinations across Europe, Asia and Middle East. The company is set to operate in 40 destinations by the end of 2018.

We are in Athens at the Square Six, Voulis 36, Athina 10557,Greece. I tried to call the driver and your office. My order #w-1298911 is to be picked up at The Square Six and taken to Piraeus Port to Regal Princess at 11:30 May 14. We have 4 people with 2 big checked bags each, plus 2 carry on for each one. I also have an Pride elite Plus scooter that can break down in 5 pieces and a walker. When we were picked up at airport, in a van, the driver would not put any suitcases up in the seating area. He had the room, but would not put them on his fancy seats. We had to pay for an extra cab to carry the rest of luggage to the Condo. I don’t want this to happen again in our trip to the ship or on May 28 from the ship to Rome. Please have the driver know we have 4 elderly people with quite a bit of luggage.
