Alonissos Included in Europe’s Best Diving Destinations
The island of Alonissos, located in Northern Sporades, has been included in Europe’s best diving destinations by UK travel blog World Adventure Divers.
According to an announcement, World Adventure Divers is considered one of the most reliable blogs on the sport, shaping the diving trend internationally and influencing the many friends of marine activities.
Titled, “Diving in Greece best-kept secret: Alonissos, Northern Sporades”, the article written by blogger and scuba diver Florine focuses on the Alonissos National Marine Park, one the largest marine parks in Europe and the Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk seal – MOm.
She also introduces five top dive sites in the area: the Blue Cave; the Gorgonian Garden; the Agios Georgios South Reef; the Agios Petros Reef and the Mourtias North Reef.
“Targeting special interest tourism groups is a top priority in regards to the program we have been carrying out for the area’s promotion… The results justify our efforts,” said Alonissos Mayor Petros Vafinis.
Travel blogger Florine visited the island in August 2017, during a press trip organized by the municipality in collaboration with tourism consulting company Re:Make.
