Culture Ministry: Greek Museums, Sites Extend Opening Hours
Prior to the Easter holiday, the Greek Culture Ministry on Wednesday announced that a number of state-run museums and archaeological sites in Greece have extended their opening hours and will be open longer for the summer season.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the opening hours of select Greek museums and archaeological sites began on April 1. The measure will gradually expand to all museums and sites. Information regarding the exact opening hours of archaeological sites, museums and monuments can be found through the ministry’s website.
During the Easter 2018 holiday, the country’s archaeological sites, museums and monuments will operate as follows:
– Good Friday, April 6: 12 noon to 5pm
– Holy Saturday, April 7: 8am to 3pm
– Easter Sunday, April 8: Closed
– Easter Monday, April 9: All sites, museums and monuments remain open according to their time schedule.
Museums, Sites Closed for four Hours on Holy Saturday
Archaeological sites and museums in Greece will remain closed to the public from 8 am to noon on Holy Saturday, due to a 4-hour protest work stoppage announced by Greek guards.
