Attica Group Applauded for CSR, Technology Initiatives at Tourism Awards 2018

The Attica Group, head of coastal shipping companies Superfast Ferries and Blue Star Ferries, has received a gold and two silver honors at the Tourism Awards 2018, held recently in Athens.

In its fifth year, the Tourism Awards rewarded the best practices and initiatives of Greek companies and organizations in the tourism sector.

Attica Group won the gold award in the Support of Local Communities / CSR Activities category for its corporate social responsibility program titled, With you as our destination.

“Social responsibility is an important part of Attica Group’s business operations…  carried out with respect to people and also aiming to protect the environment and contribute to the development of local communities,” the company said in an announcement.

Attica Group also received the silver award in the Technology Enhanced Experience category for @sea, the first onboard infotainment platform developed in the Greek shipping industry, accessible at no charge by any device – laptop, smartphone or tablet – offering information and entertainment.

Furthermore, the group received the silver award in the Travel/Reward Programs category for the SEASMILES program, which rewards passengers traveling with Blue Star Ferries or Superfast Ferries to the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the northeastern Aegean Islands, Crete and on the Greece-Italy route. The program provides its members with exclusive benefits, gifts, special offers and high-quality services.

Attica Group engages in passenger shipping via the Superfast FerriesBlue Star Ferries and Africa Moroco Links (AML) companies, operating a total of 15 ships that provide modern, high-quality transportation services in Greece and abroad. It is a member of the Marfin Investment Group (MIG).

The Tourism Awards 2018 ceremony took place at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center, in the presence of more than 700 senior tourism executives.

The Greek Travel Pages was among the communication sponsors of the event.
