Following four years of making successful showings, the Greek Tourism Expo trade show will be held in December 2018 under the new brand name 5th Athens International Tourism (AIT) Expo, as it is expanding its portfolio of participants to include even more tourism markets.
“The exhibition will gradually evolve to an international tourism expo, which will gather exhibitors and visitors from many countries, aiming to make Athens a tourism hub in the Mediterranean region and Europe,” according to an announcement by the event’s organizer, Leaderexpo.
Focusing on Greece, the exhibition this year will host more than 300 exhibitors and 150 international hosted buyers from 45 countries around the world and specifically from Europe, the US, the Balkans, Asia and the Middle East. Furthermore, it is expected to host more than 8,000 B2B meetings between exhibitors.
Additionally, the exhibition for the first time will include information and events on two growing tourism sectors: Heritage and Cultural Tourism and Medical/Wellness Tourism.
Several meetings between incoming travel agents and DMC’s from the Mediterranean and Europe will be held, as well as conferences and parallel events, which will present the latest trends in the international travel market.
The AIT Expo will also host the “Come to Meet Secret Greece” event, during which the exhibitors will present popular and lesser-known destinations in Greece, as well as new and emerging tourism forms.
The 5th Athens International Tourism Expo will be held between December 7-9, at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, and is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.
