MITT 2018: What Russian Travel Industry Professionals Want

MITT 2018, the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition in Russia is opening its doors this March and celebrating it’s 25th anniversary.

According to ITE Group, the organizer of MITT, the Russian outbound travel market is showing extraordinary growth this year: almost a third more tourists headed overseas in the first six months of 2017 than the same period in 2016, according to TurStat Agency.

But how can you benefit from this lucrative source market?

“You need to ensure that Russian travel agencies and tour operators have all the information they need about you and your services. MITT 2018, Russia’s leading travel and tourism event, is your chance to get yourself in front of 23,000+ travel industry professionals.” ITE Group says.

But what exactly are Russian travel industry professionals looking for from international travel companies?

ITE Group tells us.

Tourism products

First and foremost, travel agencies and tour operators need to know what’s on offer: flight programs, winter resorts, gastro-tours, cultural city breaks, or beach holidays. This is important both in terms of an overall picture from regional and national tourist boards, as well as the details from private companies such as accommodation providers, transport services etc.

At MITT 2017, 61% of visitors stated that they were looking for information about tourist destinations. Speaking to staff on stands and gathering materials and catalogues is the way to do it.

Offers

There is no doubt that the travel industry is a competitive landscape, and offering clients great deals is vital for success. Exhibitions such as MITT are the ideal place for travel agencies and tour operators to compare offers from a large number of companies to find the best travel deals for clients.

Networking

Networking is central to establishing new contacts and potential business deals. Key industry buyers such as senior industry leaders attend MITT looking to discuss business opportunities, network with exhibitors and sign contracts.

This is a great way to build and strengthen your current network and meet new contacts. MITT attracts those actively looking to meet leading tour operators, regional and national tourist boards, accommodation providers, airlines and transport companies, and providers of travel services.

Valuable products and services

As the industry turns to digital solutions to meet tourists’ growing demands for high levels of service, travel agencies and tour operators are on the lookout for the latest software, payment systems, insurance services, search engines and booking systems. Exhibitions are the best place to showcase the latest developments to a target audience looking to source solutions that will simplify their job and improve service for clients.

Industry insight

What’s hot right now? Travel professionals need to know. As a gathering point for the travel industry, MITT is the place to gain insight and keep up to date with the latest travel trends and innovations.

Industry experts from across the world attend the exhibition to provide insight into the market as both exhibitors and speakers in the event’s extensive business program. This year’s business program, titled MITT Tourbusiness 365, will feature 10 major sessions on topics such as travel trends, market shocks, family businesses in travel, outbound tourism in Russia. Other key sessions include the Ski Workshop, MITT Summit Hotel, MITT Digital, and MITT Academy.

MITT 2018

Hundreds of international travel companies from over 180 countries and regions of the world exhibit at MITT every year to market their services and provide Russian travel professionals with the information they need to send Russian tourists their way. Why not make 2018 the year you join them?
