Amadeus Ranks 16th Most Sustainable Company in the World
Amadeus for the second consecutive year has been included among the Corporate Knights’ 2018 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations, moving up from the 87th position in 2017 to the 16th this year.
According to an announcement, only the top 2 percent of companies in the world are recognized for their sustainability performance on the Global 100. “This prestigious achievement is linked to our purpose to shape the future of travel. We are committed to using our technology, expertise and global network to guarantee long-term travel industry sustainability,” said Tomás López Fernebrand, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Amadeus IT Group.
In addition to this recognition, Amadeus has been included on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for six straight years. To determine the ranking, 5,994 companies with revenues higher than 1 billion dollars were analyzed on 17 quantitative key performance indicators related to governance, environmental, and social aspects.
“One of our core beliefs is that true long-term travel industry sustainability requires continuous checks that our operations and commercial endeavors are compatible and actually foster a more sustainable future… We believe all stakeholders in the travel industry need to be actively involved in understanding and nurturing these areas in order to meet today’s requirements without compromising the needs of tomorrow,” Tomás López Fernebrand added.
During the past 30 years, Amadeus has been providing reliable cutting edge technology solutions to travel and tourism companies worldwide.
