Greece Looks to Promote Larissa’s Tourism Offerings

Ways of promoting the coastal area of Larissa in central Greece, as well as developing spa tourism in the region were recently discussed between Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, local officials and entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, Minister Kountoura referred to the efforts being made for the certification of the Kokkino Nero thermal spring by the Natural Thermal Resources Protection Committee. Furthermore, she spoke of ways to promote the local “Dermata” thermal springs.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Vasilis Kokkalis; Deputy Mayor of Agia Vasilios Letsios; the president of the Federation of Tourism Accommodation Facilities of Larissa Dimitris Hasiotis; MPs Anna Vaggena and Nikos Papadopoulos, among others.

Participants also discussed the prospects of promoting the region’s mountain shelters, as well as Agiokambos and the greater coastal area of Larissa as tourism destinations.
