Ionian Islands Summer Bookings on the Rise
Bookings to the Ionian Islands for the summer season have recorded a double-digit increase, according to the region’s vice governor Spyros Galiatsatos.
Speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA), Galiatsatos said that 2018 will be another successful year, as was the case in 2017, when the Ionian Islands experienced a significant rise in arrivals.
Galiatsatos is currently in Utrecht, where the “Vakantiebeurs 2018” is being held. A leading annual tourism exhibition in the Netherlands, Vakantiebeurs is taking place between January 9-14, with the participation of more than 1,000 enterprises of the travel and tourism industry.
Ionian Islands representatives – from Kefallonia and Ithaki among other destinations – during the exhibition will present the region’s tourism offerings, gastronomy and culture.
