FORTHcrs Provides Technology Insight to Greek, Foreign Travel Agencies

More than 200 representatives of travel agencies from Greece and abroad, academics and partners participated in the annual info event of Greek e-tourism solution provider FORTHcrs, which was recently held in Athens.

The event included four presentations, which offered information on the latest technology trends and the innovative solutions currently offered in coastal shipping reservation and ticketing services. An open discussion followed under the theme, “New trends and needs in coastal shipping, as a means of transport, tourism and economy”, which was coordinated by journalist Minas Tsamopoulos.

FORTHcrs CEO Giorgos Papastamatiou spoke of the company’s strategy to cover the needs of tour operators; the digital transformation and the continuous investments of FORTHcrs on cutting-edge infrastructure.

The company also presented innovative applications for the coastal shipping industry, road transport; tourism; intermodal and multimodal transport; multiservice booking systems and business intelligence systems.

“With our organized activities we have managed to develop a Greek company – FORTHcrs – into a leading reservation systems provider for coastal shipping in Europe,” Papastamatiou said.

FORTHcrs’ event was also attended by Michalis Sakellis, president of the Association of Greek Passenger Shipping Companies (SEEN); Giorgos Papadomichelkis, president of the BoD of Attica Intercity Buses (KTEL) and Ilias Kolovos, head of merchant acquiring at Alpha Bank.
