SWISS Puts Passengers in Christmas Mood

Swiss International Airlines (SWISS) has lined up a number of specials and surprises on board its aircraft ahead of Christmas to get its customers in the festive mood.

More specifically, on Saturday December 16, a special SWISS flight operated with a Bombardier C Series aircraft will depart from Zurich for Levi in Lapland. The social media event will see some 20 families selected and flown to Finland’s far north to enjoy a colorful Christmas program, an announcement said. Interested families can apply at www.lxmas.ch.

Furthermore, every day between December 1 and 14, one Economy Class passenger on a selected long-haul flight from Zurich or Geneva will be sitting in a “Golden Seat” and will be entitled to special service. The 24 lucky travelers will enjoy Business Class meals, a bottle of champagne, pralines, an amenity kit and further small gifts.

Additionally, from December 7 onwards, the usual Swiss Christmas specialties will be coming aboard, such as cookies and mandarins as an afternoon Economy Class snack on European flights. Furthermore, traditional Christmas cookies will be baked on board for First and Business Class travelers on daytime intercontinental flights departing from Switzerland between December 13 and 19.

Between December 20-26, SWISS’ long-haul guests will be offered special festive meals. Economy Class travelers can look forward to breast of turkey with potato dumplings, red cabbage and cranberry compote; Business Class customers will enjoy corn-fed chicken with truffle sauce, bread dumplings, red cabbage and Brussels sprouts; First Class guests will be treated to Filet Wellington with Perigord truffle sauce and vegetables.

The seasonal fare will be further supplemented by a fine Christmas tea in First Class and a Christmas “Pflümli” in Business.
