“Asterocosmos will be the ‘heart’ of Thessaloniki during the Christmas period,” TIF-Helexpo president Tasos Tzikas said during a press conference on Tuesday, adding that the city has become a popular Christmas destination due to the park’s operation.
During the official opening ceremony of the Asterocosmos Christmas Park, a group of more than 1,000 Santas will attempt to create the largest human star at the Center’s Rainbow Gate, with the participation of all guests.
Organized by “Magic Park”, this year Asterocosmos will feature theme laboratories, interactive games, a fun park with 16 amusement games and two indoor ice skating rinks in a space of 23,000 square meters. Furthermore, the program of events will include theater and dance performances, concerts, games, sports and juggling shows face painting and many others.
“Asterocosmos was TIF-Helexpo’s first theme park and today continues to grow,” the company’s deputy general director Alexis Tsaxirlis said, adding that this year special consideration has been put on protecting visitors from inclement weather and all games and activities will be held inside Pavilions 13, 14 and 15 of the TIF-Helexpo venue.
Festive events will run at Asterocosmos until January 7, 2018.
Admission to Asterocosmos is at 7 euros. One ticket is provided for free to five-member families, while entrance is free to people with special needs and small children. For more information visit the website www.asterocosmos.gr.
