Grand Opening for Greece’s ‘Xenia 2017’ Hospitality Trade Show

After an absence of five years, the trademark Xenia hospitality trade show opened its doors at the Metropolitan Expo Center in Athens on Saturday, aiming to mark a new era for Greek tourism. Organized by Forum SA, the trade show will run until Monday, November 27.

Xenia 2017 was inaugurated by Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, in the presence of Hellenic Chamber of Hotels President Yiorgos Tsakiris, Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) President Yiannis Retsos, Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) President Charalampos Karimalis, Hellenic Hotel Federation President Grigoris Tasios and other tourism professionals and figures.

“With its many years of experience and extensive know-how, the fair brings together the entirety of the Greek hotel market to network and form new collaborations with professionals from numerous other sectors,” Minister Kountoura said during her opening address and expressed the ministry’s support to the trade show.

“The Tourism Ministry, the GNTO and I personally, fully support exhibitions and actions that bring together businesses from different sectors, aiming at quality, innovation, and the provision of top tier products and services in Greek hospitality,” she added.

On his part, Nikos Choudalakis, president and CEO of Forum noted that Xenia is one of the strongest brands in the Greek tourism industry and after 5 years of absence has been re-launched at a time when Greek tourism is developing fast and with it, its needs for upgraded infrastructure and facilities.

“With its tremendous experience and extensive know-how, Forum SA is putting its stamp in this new era for Xenia; with a set of values, efficiency and a great visibility that only our company can guarantee,” Choudalakis said.

Xenia has attracted the participation of 500 exhibitors that are covering a total space of 45,000 m2 and are exhibiting a range of products and services related to the construction, renovation, decoration, equipment and catering of hotels, guesthouses, rooms to rent and camp sites. The main categories of exhibitors are: Construction-Decoration-Energy-Automation, Hotel Equipment, Kitchen Equipment, Food & Beverage and Digital Technology.
