Marriott International’s CSR Initiatives Support SOS Children Villages Greece

Marriott Hotels InternationalMarriott International continues to grow its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity with the Marriott Worldwide Business Council Greece & Cyprus and recently held two activities aiming to raise funds and support the SOS Children’s Villages Greece.

According to an announcement, Marriott International Hotels in Greece and Cyprus made a joint effort and organized the 6th Bike Ride event in Athens and the 4th Beach Cleaning at Schinias beach on Sunday, October 29. The staff of the hotels under its management in Greece – Hotel Grand Bretagne and King George Hotel – volunteered and participated in the events.

Hotel Grande Bretagne, Athens Main Lobby“A sincere ‘thank you’ goes to the esteemed associates of our hotels, who contributed to the support of SOS Children’s Villages Greece as well as to the members of the Volunteer Associate Team, who participated in the Bike Ride and Beach Cleaning.” said Tim Ananiadis, chairman of the Marriott Business Council Greece and Cyprus and general manager of Hotel Grande Bretagne and King George Hotel.

The main goals of the initiatives were also to enhance the company’s team spirit and support its CSR activities, an announcement said.

The key messages Marriott International aimed to pass to the public were: “Children deserve a better future and together we can help them” and “we clean the Greek seas and beaches and we swear to care”.

Marriott Worldwide Business Council Greece & Cyprus is a cooperation of managed and franchised hotels in Greece and Cyprus which volunteer together in committees to perpetuate culture, strengthen communities, advocate for Marriott’s business interests and lead cross-brand, market-driven initiatives. The Marriott Worldwide Business Council Greece & Cyprus is Marriott’s CSR program in Greece and Cyprus.
