Greece Preparing to Chair OECD High Level Meeting on Tourism in Paris

OECD Tourism Committee Chairman Alain Dupeyras and Greek General Secretary for Tourism Policy and Development George Tziallas.
Greece is getting ready to chair the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) High Level Tourism Committee Meeting to take place in Paris during October 2-3.
The event, considered very important for Greece and the country’s tourism sector, will be chaired by Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura. This high level meeting will bring together ministers, senior policy makers and industry leaders to discuss ways to deliver more sustainable and inclusive tourism growth.
“Our country strengthens its global presence and its active role in shaping and promoting long-term tourism policies,” an announcement by the Greek Tourism Ministry said.
The General Secretary for Tourism Policy and Development, Yiorgos Tziallas, recently had a meeting in Paris with the administration of the OECD Tourism Committee to prepare for the high level meeting. Tziallas met with OECD Tourism Committee Chairman Alain Dupeyras and discussed the event’s three main sessions that involve fostering a whole-of-government approach in tourism; analyzing megatrends to better shape the future of tourism; and leveraging investment for sustainable and inclusive tourism growth.
Also discussed was the organization of bilateral meetings and parallel publicity, promotion and press events that will include the dynamic promotion of Greece.
Tziallas will meet again next week in Paris with the OECD Tourism Committee to finalize the event’s agenda and guest list.
The meeting will take place at the OECD Conference Center in Paris and mark the occasion of the 100th meeting of the Tourism Committee and support the future policy agenda of OECD member and partner countries.
