Aria Hotels Expands Presence on Crete

Aria Hotels, a family-owned boutique hotel and villas company, has added another luxury property to its portfolio on Crete, the Astraia Residence located in the Old City of Chania.

The Astraia Residence

The Astraia Residence

The recently revamped Astraia Residence is a two-floor house (114 square meters), which is offering a stunning view of the Chania Old Port. Some of the residence’s features include the modern-style decoration and the state-of-the-art equipment, which harmonically co-exists with the building’s traditional architecture. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, a dinning area, two bedrooms, a cozy living room and a furnished terrace.

With the Astraia Residence, Aria Hotels today counts six properties on Crete, in the areas of Chania, Iraklio and Lassithi.

Located in the historic area of Kasteli, the residence is the ideal starting point to explore the Chania Old City and the greater area of Crete, which includes numerous sites of interest, Aria Hotels said in an announcement. It is also offering a plethora of entertainment and gastronomy options. Among them is the Alcanea Café & Wine Bar, located in the premises of the Alcanea Boutique Hotel – a member the Aria Hotels.

Kasteli also includes the ruins of the Santa Maria dei Miracoli Monastery, which was built in 1615 for the Dominican nuns. The building suffered extensive damages during the World War II bombings. Today the south and part of the east wall of the catholic are preserved, as well as parts of the cells and the internal corridor.

The properties of the Aria Hotels are located in ten carefully selected areas of unique natural beauty in Greece, specifically on Crete, the Cyclades and Epirus.
