Aegina Int’l Music Festival Features the Classics & More
More than 400 performers will be taking the stage in 85 concerts during the 12th Aegina International Music Festival to run through to August 27.
The Saronic island, an hour and half trip by ferry from Athens, will host some of the world’s finest musicians and soloists performing everything from tango, popular Greek music and opera duets to works by Vivaldi, Mahler and Rachmaninov among others.
Concerts at the 12th Aegina International Music Festival include “The Charm of Adolescence” on August 5, “Songs of Love” from the perspective of great composers on August 11, “Moonlight Serenade” on August 16 and “Scent of France” on August 27.
The annual festival is organized by internationally acclaimed Greek pianist Dora Bakopoulou with concerts to be held at the Sotiras Church and at Avra Beach, a three-minute walk from the center of town, starting at 9pm. Tickets cost 10 euros and 7 euros for students.
