Aqua Vista Hotels: Art Meets Hospitality at Santorini’s ‘Aqua Gallery’
Art and hospitality are going hand in hand on Santorini this summer, guided by Aqua Vista Hotels‘ aim to offer customers an extra experience during their visit.
Following the launch of its first art exhibition on the island, the Aqua Gallery of the Art Hotel Santorini recently inaugurated its second exhibition under the theme “Art Travels”.
An initiative of Greek hotel management company Aqua Vista Hotels, the Aqua Gallery is located within the Art Hotel’s premises and features the work of Greek artists.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide such a wonderful space for artistic expression and I am sure that this second exhibition will also be very popular,” said Sofia Matzourani, business development manager of Aqua Vista hotels.
The new exhibition includes works, especially created for the occasion by 26 artists, who used various materials and techniques and were inspired by Greece and the Aegean Sea. Curated by artist and owner of EPsilon Art Gallery Efi Panteleon, the exhibition aims to offer visitors of the Art Hotel and residents the chance to enjoy art works of various styles.
According to Aqua Vista Hotels, the enthusiastic response of the guests during the recent official opening of the exhibition was a clear sign that the “Art Travels” project is destined to be a success. The opening ceremony was attended by the hotel’s guests, the island’s visitors, locals, art lovers and the Aqua Vista Hotels executives.
“The hotel’s guests and the island’s visitors will have the opportunity to experience hospitality at its best, while embarking on a ‘journey’ through the artworks, which show the artists’ creativity and the sense of Greece’s ‘philoxenia’”, Matzourani added.
The exhibition was organized by Aqua Gallery in cooperation with the EPsilon Art Gallery. It was also an initiative of the #Rest@rt Contemporary Art Platform by Kelly Athanasiadou and will run until August 22.
Aqua Vista Hotels was founded in 2005 and today manages a portfolio of more than 30 hotels in Greece on the islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Naxos, Lesvos and Skiathos.
