Special Offers Announced for ‘Santorini Experience’ 2017 Sports Tourism Event

Santorini, one of Greece’s most popular destinations, will host one of the country’s top sports tourism events for professional and amateur swimmers and runners.

In its third year, the exciting “Santorini Experience” event will take place during October 6-8 and offer participants breathtaking views, challenging routes and a rewarding experience. An award-winning event, “Santorini Experience” recently won the silver award at the Sports Marketing Awards 2017 in the “Sports Events / Branded Events” section of the “Sports Tourism” category.

The event’s schedule this year includes a 1.5-mile open water swimming race on Saturday, October 7 and running routes of 15km, 10km & 5km on Sunday, October 8.

While detailed information on the event’s activities schedule will be announced in the following weeks, the organizers have announced special travel offers regarding for the event.

Getting to Santorini

Ryanair’s network for Santorini Experience.

Ryanair, the official airline partner of “Santorini Experience”, will serve the Athens – Santorini route with fares starting from only 14.99 euros.

The airline’s special low prices will be available from Wednesday, July 19, through the airline’s website www.ryanair.com or mobile app, for bookings made by Sunday, July 23, for travel in October.

Ferry operator Blue Star Ferries, an official sponsor of “Santorini Experience”, this year is offering a 50% discount on the ferry tickets and vehicles to those traveling to from Piraeus to Santorini for the event from October 2 to 13. Participants that have completed their registration are entitled to the same discount for another three people (escorts) or for four people (family members).

The event’s official travel agent VitaNTravel will take care and assist all athletes and escorts with information on ferry routes, ferry tickets, car rentals and accommodation on the island. For more information, press here.

Once participants are on the island, they can seek the assistance of the event’s official car rental company Avance Rent A Car for their car rental needs and get a 15% discount.

Accommodation

“Santorini Experience” has also attracted the support of many of the island’s hospitality professionals in recognition of the event’s importance for the island’s tourism.

For the second year in a row, Aqua Vista Hotels will support the event both as an official supporter and hospitality sponsor the event, by providing high quality accommodation services to participants and visitors of the island.

According to the organizers, registrations for the event have already surpassed the record number of last year during the first 60 days. “Santorini Experience” is a world-renowned event and a special video with the best moments of the 2016 event, which was shown in Greece via FOX Sports, will be broadcast in 13 Asian countries (Hong Kong, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Macau, Mongolia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and Brunei) on July 26 (18.30 Hong Kong time zone) and July 31 (13.30 Hong Kong time zone).

The event is assisted by Sunset Oia Sailing Cruises, Alios Ilios and Lifeguard Patrol. For the third consecutive year, the transport needs of the ambassadors and organizers of the event will be covered by “Santorini Experience” official supporter Ford Motor Hellas. Official supporters of “Santorini Experience” include “Vikos” Natural Mineral Water, Wyndham Grand Athens and the Santorini Boatmen Union.
