Cyclades Chamber Calls for Ferry Connection Between Rafina and Syros
The Chamber of Cyclades has called for the island of Syros to be added to a ferry connection that starts out from the port in Rafina.
In a letter to the Shipping Ministry, representatives from the chamber have requested for the ferry connection between Rafina and the Cyclades group to be extended with the addition of Syros to its itinerary.
The current daily service, carried out by Tera Jet of Seajets, connects Rafina to Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos.
The chamber is requesting for Syros to be added to the route, if not daily, at least three times a week in order improve the connection of the island with Tinos, Paros and Naxos.
In its letter, the chamber pointed out the importance of linking the islands by ferry connection and in particular Tinos with Syros, as it would achieve to serve a significant number of cruise passengers and tourists, as well as a large number of permanent residents who frequently need to travel between the islands for health reasons.
Syros currently has a ferry connection with the port of Piraeus.
