During a recent meeting, representatives of Larissa’s tourism accommodation bodies informed the vice governor of the region of Thessaly, Thanasis Pedis, that Larissa has attracted the interest of holidaymakers from abroad and particularly the Balkan countries. On his part, the vice governor informed that the region and local authorities recently concluded a marketing campaign for the promotion of the area’s tourism product.

According to Pedis, several tourism activities are currently underway, including familiarization trips for tourism professionals, bloggers and journalists, social media campaigns and the prefecture’s participation in several exhibitions abroad.

Tourism professionals requested the prefecture’s contribution in placing explanatory signs in tourism destinations and resorts.

Larissa’s coastal area stretches from Mount Kissavos to the north all the way to Mount Pelion in the south. Agiokambos, Velika Kokkino Nero and Polydendri are among the most popular beaches and considered ideal for summer vacations.
