Athens Airport, Hellenic American University to Teach Aviation to Kids

The Hellenic American University, in cooperation with the Athens International Airport (AIA) and the Hellenic-American College, is organizing the 2nd Aviation and Flight Academy for students between 14-17 years old, aiming to provide them with first hand information on aviation and its principles.

Starting on June 26 and until July 14 students will attend classes and will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of hands-on training at the Athens and Megara airports.

“Our students will learn the principles of aviation from esteemed and experienced instructors of the aviation and academic community”, said AIA’s communications and marketing director Ioanna Papadopoulou.

The course titled, “Fundamentals of Aviation & Flight” will also include flight lessons in a state-of-the-art flight simulator. The course’s sessions will be conducted in English and comprise of two levels:

– Introductory/Fundamentals of Aviation and Flight
– Advanced/Global Aviation Management and Operations & Flight Operations

According to Dr. Triant Flouris, provost of the Hellenic American University and creator of the program, the Academy was designed to serve the dreams and aspirations of the next generation of aviation professionals, providing them with a solid background on which to build on, in order to enhance their education in the aviation industry.
