Aldemar Resorts Hosts MBA Students at its ‘Olympian Village’

Aldemar Resorts and the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) have joined forces in an effort to promote education and entrepreneurship in the field of hospitality.

The hotel chain recently opened the doors of the Aldemar Olympian Village, located in the area of Olympia on the west coast of the Peloponnese, to 30 MBA students, providing them with the opportunity to gain first hand experience on the hotel’s operation and learn more on the organizing requirements of large hotel units.

The initiative took place within the framework of Aldemar’s many-sided “Mare Verde” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development program.

During their visit at the hotel, the students toured the hotel’s facilities and attended a session on hospitality and the economy. George Kouretas, director of the MBA, thanked Alexandros Angelopoulos, CEO of Aldemar Resorts, for hosting the students and underlined that it was the beginning of a productive cooperation, which would benefit all interested parties.

Also present were Giorgos Georgiopoulos, representative or the Region of Ilia; Giorgos Gouvitsas, Araxos airport manager; and Pavlos Dakouris, general manager of the Aldemar Olympian Village and the Royal Olympian.

Within the framework of its collaboration with the AUEB, Aldemar Resorts is also supporting the MBA program currently run by the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Marketing and Communication. The hotel chain is sponsoring two scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year, giving two students the opportunity to complete their MBA thesis.
