Piraeus to Welcome New Built Cruise Ship Majestic Princess

The newly built cruise ship Majestic Princess of Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corp, will dock in Piraeus Port on Sunday, April 30.

The 143,000t vessel is the third cruise ship of the Royal Princess class, built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, and debuted in early April from Rome.

Piraeus is one of the 22 ports the Majestic Princess is visiting during her 49-day ‘Silk Road Sea Route’ voyage from Rome to Shanghai, visiting a total of 22 ports.

During the vessel’s visit in Piraeus a commemorative plaque will be given to the ship’s captain and a tour will take place for guests attending the welcome ceremony.

The 143,000gt Majestic Princess is the first vessel to be custom-designed and built for Chinese market and incorporates the successful design platform introduced on her sister ships Royal Princess and Regal Princess, which entered service in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Following her European cruises in April and May, the 3,560-passenger Majestic Princess will travel to her new homeport of Shanghai, which will be the departure point for cruises to Japan and South Korea in the following months.

Majestic Prinecss is the 19th member of the Princess fleet.

Princess Cruises is represented in Greece by Amphitrion Group of Companies.
