HORECA 2017 Gets Ready to Open with 550 Exhibitors and Must-attend Special Events

With 550 exhibitors located in an exhibition area of 55,000 square meters and a program including more than 240 hours of special events, the 12th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HORECA is ready to open on February 10 at the Metropolitan Expo Center near Athens International Airport.

Running until February 13, the show is expected to attract all major decision makers from the hotel sector and the wider food market.

According to the event’s organizer FORUM, over 120,000 visitors and some 1,200 F&B managers, restaurateurs and wholesalers of the hospitality and greater food service industry are expected to attend the country’s largest annual meeting of the Greek economy’s driving sectors.

Speaking during a recent press conference, FORUM’s president and CEO, Nikos Choudalakis, underlined the importance of the exhibition for the broader tourism sector, since apart from the commercial part of the show, HORECA allows fruitful dialogue for the future of tourism. “The HORECA show has managed to play a significant role in the further development of hotel capacity, the improvement of tourism infrastructure and the upgrading of the produced local and national tourism product”, Choudalakis said.

As every year, the HORECA expo will aim to provide hoteliers and food service professionals with modern and effective solutions, tailored to the needs and budget of each individual establishment or hospitality unit.

With the upgrade of the organizational infrastructure, the enrichment of special events and the enhancement of all thematic sectors, HORECA 2017 is expected to break all previous attendance records and to be the commercial and social event of the year for the hospitality and food service industry.

The trade show will also host a wide-ranging program of presentations, seminars and workshops, covering the entire spectrum of functions for hotels, restaurants and café-bars.

Internationally acclaimed speakers and experienced professionals from Greece and abroad, will present detailed proposals and successful case studies to HORECA visitors, concerning all fields of construction, interior design, new technologies, gastronomy, coffee and cocktails.

The 12th HORECA’s special events will run under the following themes: Hotel Build and Design; Future Hotel on the Web; Gastronomy Forum; Coffee Events, Beer & Spirits Show; and Greek Breakfast by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.

The event program will include the annual General Assembly of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels to take place on Friday, February 10, at 5pm.
