AVICOM Awards Greek Museum of Byzantine Culture Film with Gold
AVICOM, ICOM’s (International Council of Museums) International Committee for Audiovisual and New Technologies of Image and Sound, has awarded Greece’s Museum of Byzantine Culture (MBP) for its film titled “Return” during the International Audiovisual Festival on Museums and Heritage (FIAMP) in November.
The film — narrated by Greek actress Filareti Komninou — tells the story (in Greek with English subtitles) of the museum and its connection with the northern port city of Thessaloniki. It marks 20 years since the museum opened its doors to the public, and was selected among 33 world museums.
The people behind the award-winning film: Agathoniki Tsilipakou, MBP director, archaeologists Evangelia Aggelkou and Antingoni Tzitzibasi, directed by Giorgos Skandalaris, scenario by Panos Kassaris and Skandalaris, music by Nikos Doulamis and produced by DES Production.
