Thessaloniki Ushers in Xmas Season with ‘Asterocosmos’
The northern port city of Thessaloniki is ready for Christmas and its annual Asterocosmos (StarWorld) awaits visitors to celebrate all season long starting with the official launch on Saturday, December 10, featuring popular band Vegas at the TIF-Helexpo center.
Running through to January 8 and organized by Magic Park with the support of TIF-Helexpo, happenings and events this year include everything from amusement park activities and ice-skating to interactive games and workshops in “elf village”, concerts, theater performances, shadow puppet theater, sets with Dj Santa and flash mob action.
“From December 10 to January 8 you’ll find the entire city at Asterokosmos,” TIF-Helexpo President Tasos Tzikas told a press conference on the event this week, and added the Asterokosmos theme park is Thessaloniki’s great Christmas event, attracting more than 150,000 visitors last year.
Admission to Asterocosmos is at 7 euros (cildren under 1m tall enter for free) and provides: unlimited access to 16 Funfair Rides and two 2 ice-skating rinks, unlimited access to The Village of mischievous Elves, shows for children, activities, workshops, puppet events, Karagiozis (shadow puppet show), acrobat events and much more.
All events will take place inside Pavilions 13, 14 and 15 of the TIF-Helexpo venue. Eight out of the 17 Funfair Rides are located outside.
