Pioneering Greeks: Niki Koutsianas, President of APIVITA Natural Cosmetics
Welcome to “Pioneering Greeks”, the weekly column of GTP Headlines, which highlights the Greeks that stand out for their creative thinking in the business world. “Pioneering Greeks” is a collaboration between LoveGreece.com and Greek Travel Pages (GTP).
This week we introduce Niki Koutsianas, the president of APIVITA, the first company of natural cosmetics in Greece. Niki established APIVITA in 1979 alongside with her husband Nicos Koutsianas.
APIVITA cosmetics combine naturally derived active ingredients, extracts from plants of the Greek nature, beehive products of high nutritional value, and organic essential oils.
The brand’s formulations include natural ingredients ranging from 85-100%, excluding the use of silicones, parabens, mineral oil, propylene glycol, polycyclic musks, nitromusks, phthalates, as well as other ingredients that have been associated with adverse health or environmental effects.
“Inspired by the philosophy of Hippocrates, we address the individual concerns of each customer’s skin in a comprehensive way”, Niki says.
Niki’s role in APIVITA is very important, as she supervises the development of every product and shares her creativity, intuition and love for Greek nature, from the beginning of developing a new product, to its promotion, up to its final packaging. With her clear vision to produce high quality natural products, she has achieved to make APIVITA products best sellers in thousands of pharmacies throughout Greece.
Each APIVITA product offers multiple actions: hydration, protection from environmental aggressors, prevention and treatment of signs of aging or other problems, plus – thanks to pure, 100% certified organic essential oils – uplifting, invigoration, relief from tension and stress.
Social responsibility is rooted deep into the brand’s DNA. The creation and maintenance of the Hippocrates Botanical Garden on the island of Kos is an integral part of company’s activities in this respect. Covering an area of 1.2 acres, the garden was established at the Hippocratic Melathron, in Platani, Kos, where the International Hippocratic Foundation is based, and is adjacent to the archaeological site of the Asclepieion.
Internationally APIVITA has a physical presence in 11 countries worldwide: Australia, Belgium, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden and USA.
