Royal Jordanian has announced that it is now the main sponsor and the “Official Airline Partner” of Club Deportivo Leganés for the remainder of the 2016/2017 La Liga football season that will end on May 21, 2017. Royal Jordanian will be the front shirt sponsor of C.D. Leganés club.
The sponsorship is expected to boost Spanish tourism to Jordan and increase the transit traffic traveling from the European continent to the eastern part of the world via Queen Alia International Airport. Royal Jordanian, the third Middle Eastern airline to sponsor a “La Liga” club, operates direct flights to Madrid and Barcelona and to many other European capitals and cities.
According to Royal Jordanian President/CEO Captain Suleiman Obeidat, having already established itself as a carrier that offers top notch services in the air transport industry, Royal Jordanian’s sponsorship of the Spanish football team will boost its visibility in the European and international markets.
“Our sponsorship will draw the global attention to Jordan and Royal Jordanian that is leading the air transportation in the Levant region. Royal Jordanian has endeavored, at national level, to promote tourism to Jordan,” Obeidat said during a press conference earlier this week.
Gisle Dueland, Royal Jordanian’s Head of Sales, Marketing & Product Design, said that besides sponsoring the front shirts of C. D. Leganés players, the partnership also contains a number of advertising and hospitality rights.
It will play six matches in Round 1 and 22 matches in Round 2 during “La Liga” season, starting November 6, 2016, until the end of the season on May 21, 2017, the period during which Royal Jordanian sponsors the club.
