Avis Donates Vehicle to Transport First Aid Supplies to Refugees in Athens

Avis Hellas’ managing director, Andreas Taprantzis handing Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis the key to the vehicle which is to be used by the Municipality for the transport of first aid supplies to refugees.
Car rental company Avis Hellas on Tuesday donated a van-type vehicle to the Municipality of Athens to be used for the transport of first aid supplies to refugees.
In an announcement, the company said it donated the vehicle to assist the Municipality in its challenge to effectively face the refugee crisis.
“Avis’ offer tremendously supports our actions in handling the refugee crisis and sends a message to the private economy to support, as much as it can, our efforts to ensure the city’s proper function and the quality of life of residents”, Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis said.
On his part, Avis’ managing director, Andreas Taprantzis, said that actively contributing to society and helping resolve problems is every modern company’s responsibility.
“We hope to have assisted even in the slightest way to this large and multilevel task of the Municipality”, Taprantzis stressed.
The support of vulnerable society groups is included in the corporate strategy of Avis which also promotes volunteering programs with the participation of its staff.
