Google Trips App Goes Live: See More, Plan Less
Google is again tapping into the tourism market with the recent launch of a new travel app called Google Trips that helps potential holidaymakers plan their next adventure.
The new iOS and Android application brings together Google Maps data and crowdsourced traveler insight which will help users keep track of day trips, bookings, points of interest, tourist attractions, restaurants and much more, serving as a personalized travel guide of sorts.
Besides collecting information on a preferred destination and forming a personalized plan, the app also makes suggestions, including which day plans and itineraries are the most popular for some 200 top cities worldwide. Google Trips can also track flight, hotel, car and restaurant reservations. And all this after automatically compiling bookings in your Gmail account and organizing them into trips.
The new app is expected to free travelers of time spent searching and planning but also help Google collect more data and thus enhance its business listings in Google Maps.
